We’ve all been there. We wish there were some very simple steps we could take to make our homes feel more luxurious, stylish and photo shoot worthy. It’s nothing to be ashamed about!
We are only human, and we love beautiful spaces. Here are five simple ways to make any space feel more luxurious.
Remove clutter and simplify
Removing clutter allows the eye to rest on the most stunning pieces in your home. Start by removing unnecessary furniture, bulky pieces and anything that doesn’t have a real function. Then remove any unwanted or outdated accessories.
Once you simplify, your room will instantly feel updated. Go a step further and regroup your items. Groups of three work perfect such as three items of the same like small decorative vases or three items of the same color.
Accessorize in layers
Now that your home is free of clutter add stylish area rugs to large hard wood floors and luxurious pillows and throws to sofas, chairs and beds. Simple is good but stark is not. There are a variety of beautiful items no matter your budget. Giving the appearance of luxury doesn’t have to be expensive.
Elegant drapes will add instant luxury to any room. Splurge on high-end fabrics and textures and replace outdated blinds and other window treatments. Stick with lighter fabrics, stylish curtain rods and make sure they are hung properly. Custom window treatments also add value to your home should you decide to put it on the market in the future.
There are so many unique and interesting light fixtures out there so make a statement and choose something great! Search for lighting that goes with your style and make sure to go with fixtures that provide soft light. Chandeliers and pendant lighting or both very popular right now.
Buy some flowers
If nothing else just by adding fresh cut flowers and greenery to a space will give the ambiance of luxury. When in doubt, white flowers are best – beautiful vases of white flowers will draw the eye and create instant elegance.
I’d love to hear how you’ve added luxury to your home. Feel free to reach out and let me know if you have any questions!
